The role and purpose of the Brain and Central Nervous System (CNS) CRG is to improve the experience and outcomes of cancer care for Brain and CNS patients in Lancashire & South Cumbria.
This involves consideration of strategies and plans for service improvement and service development across the patient pathway, incorporating all aspects of care at appropriate stages of the patient's journey. The aim is to achieve the best possible outcomes and best quality of life for all patients who use Brain & CNS cancer services within the network.
Neuro-Oncology has created a ‘Big Room’ platform for health care professionals, charitable organisations and patient representatives across Lancashire and South Cumbria to share their experiences. These virtual meetings have been established to focus on continuous improvement work within the Neuro-Oncology Service to enhance communication and collaborative working.
Members of the Brain & CNS CRG will be responsible for feeding back information/decisions from the CRG to their clinical and managerial colleagues.
