David was previously the independent chair for Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System.

Since 2015, he has been the chief of hospitals at Hamad Medical Corporation in the State of Qatar, responsible for 14 hospitals with 2,500 beds, providing a full range of secondary and tertiary services for the country.

Prior to moving to the Middle East, David had 22 years board level experience as chief executive and executive director of NHS organisations in England, including six years working as deputy chief executive/director general in the Department of Health for England.
